All the models of the Helix mattresses are 12 inches tall and composed of multiple layers. However, the specific construction varies.
The Sunset, the Midnight, and the Twilight share similar constructions. Each mattress uses a top layer of Memory Plus Foam, which is Helix’s high-density foam designed to relieve pressure points and provide contouring. The next layer of the Sunset mattress uses Helix Dynamic Foam, and the Midnight and Twilight feature high-grade polyfoam. While the materials differ, the goal of this layer is the same between the models: cushioning and support. The next layer of each mattress uses individually-wrapped coils, which are designed to contour to the body. Wrapping the coils individually also reduces motion transfer between the coils. The final layer of each mattress uses DuraDense Foam, which serves as the foundation for the rest of the mattress.
The Moonlight, the Dusk, and the Dawn also offer similar constructions. The top layers of these mattresses use Helix Dynamic Foam, which is a hybrid of latex and foam. This layer is designed for contouring and responsiveness. The second layer of each mattress is designed primarily for support and pressure relief. The Moonlight uses a layer of Helix Dynamic Foam, the Dusk uses a layer of Memory Foam Plus, and the Dawn uses a layer of high-grade polyfoam. The next layer of the Moonlight, the Dusk, and the Dawn is a layer of wrapped coils, which provide deeper contouring. Additionally, the wrapping of the coils can help reduce motion transfer within the innerspring layer. Finally, the base of each mattress uses a layer of DuraDense Foam for support.
The innerspring layer of each Helix mattress also features reinforced edges for a sturdier perimeter. All of the mattresses use a cover that is composed of polyester and is designed to feel soft.

While the mattress features a number of high-quality components, specifications on the precise makeup of each mattress model are not publically available, so the projected longevity is difficult to judge.
How well does it conform to my body?
All of the Helix mattresses offer conforming, but the level of the conforming may vary between models. Each model uses multiple layers of foam, which can conform to the body to reduce pressure points. The innerspring layer of each mattress provides even deeper contouring, allowing heavier areas to sink in more.

The Helix mattress’s innerspring layer allows greater breathability than most all-foam bases. This can allow for airflow that could help dissipate heat, so Helix mattresses should be able to support a cool night’s sleep.
However, since softer models offer closer conforming, they may be slightly more likely to trap heat than firmer models.
Will it off-gas when it’s delivered?
Like most foam mattresses, Helix mattresses may have an odor at first. The smell is not dangerous, and the odor should fade in a few hours to a few days. If the odor bothers you, just leave it in a well-ventilated area until it airs out.
Will I feel my partner move during the night?
The degree of motion isolation may vary between Helix models, but all of them can help reduce motion transfer. The customer is responsible for the cost of shipping the mattress back to Helix. However, if the mattress is found defective, Helix will reimburse up to $100 in shipping costs and repair or replace the mattress.
Availability and Delivery
The Helix mattress is sold through the Helix website and ships free via FedEx Ground within the United States. Helix also ships to most of Canada, though an extra $250 shipping fee and customs taxes apply. The Helix mattress usually takes between 3 and 7 business days to arrive. The mattress arrives compressed for the customer to unpackage and set up. Old mattress removal is available in select locations for an extra $150.00 fee.
